Inauguration by the then Defence Minister Sardar Swaran Singh

The twenty-fifth anniversary of INS Shivaji was celebrated in the characteristic Naval Tradition and with enthusiasm in Feb 1970. Inaugurating the silver jubilee celebration, the then Defence Minister, Sardar Swaran Singh re-echoed the words of the Duke of Wellington, ‘Modern wars are not won by valour and bravery alone. The basis of victory is laid in workshops and laboratories’. He lauded the work at Shivaji and expressed satisfaction that the establishment was also imparting quality training to young men from many foreign countries.

Golden Jubilee

INS Shivaji completed 50 glorious years in the service of the nation in 1995. His Excellency, Shri PC Alexander, Governor of Maharashtra presided over the ceremonies and commemorated establishment on the firm strides taken towards training in the modern technical era. He also released a book titled ‘Full Ahead’ which delved on the growth of INS Shivaji and the overall development related to marine engineering. He inaugurated the Motivation Hall aimed to familiarize the Naval Personnel of the rich and varied history of the Indian Navy in general, and INS Shivaji in particular


International Engineers Officers Conference

 

Diamond Jubilee

INS Shivaji celebrated its Diamond Jubilee with ‘International Engineers Officers Conference’ on 13 Jan 2005. The event was inaugurated by Maharashtra Governor, Shri S.M. Krishna. The theme of the conference was ‘Management of Change –The Marine Engineering perspective’. Apart from naval officers, conference was attended by delegates from 11 other countries.
