‘Dilli Series’ Sea Power Seminar - 2018 to be Conducted at Indian Naval Academy

Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala is all set to conduct the fifth edition of the prestigious annual Dilli seminar on 11th and 12th  of October 2018. The theme for this year’s seminar is “Geopolitical Impact of Sea Power”. Admiral RK Dhowan, PVSM,  AVSM, YSM (Retd.), former Chief of Naval Staff has consented to be the chief guest for the occasion.

The seminar, named after the historic Mount Dilli located within the INA, with considerable historical importance, has witnessed four earlier editions conducted to date. The annual Dilli seminar helps young officers and cadets keep an eye on developments in the maritime domain whilst simultaneously laying a strong foundation of the past.  This year’s seminar is aimed to provide exposure to the cadets on the larger significance of sea power required for a nation, under three sub – themes; Sea Power and Colonisation, China’s Belt and Road Initiative – leverage of sea power for geo political gains, and Gunboat Diplomacy – Sea Power for Coercion.

A number of eminent personalities are expected to participate in the seminar, in addition to senior Naval Officers, academicians and distinguished luminaries; including Dr. TCA Raghavan, Former Diplomat, VAdm Pradeep Chauhan, AVSM & Bar, VSM (Retd.), Director NMF,    New Delhi & former Commandant, INA, and Shri Nitin Pai, Founder, Takshashila (Think Tank), Bangalore.

The Dilli series of seminar has always been an intellectually stimulating experience for all participants especially the young cadets and the 2018 edition promises to be equally informative.
