PASSING OUT PARADE OF ELECTRICAL SPECIALISATION COURSE

VAdm SR Sarma AVSM, VSM, Director General Naval Projects (Visakhapatnam) reviewed an impressive ‘Passing Out Parade’ (POP) of Electrical Specialization Course at INS Valsura on 14 Oct 2017. The POP marked the culmination of 95 weeks of professional training in Electrical specialisation post their BTech for the O-167 course. A total of 55 officers, including 40 officers of Indian Navy, 05 officers of Indian Coast Guard and ten officers from friendly foreign countries, passed out, marching past the Quarterdeck of INS Valsura. A 50 men Guard of Honour was presented to the chief guest in an immaculate ceremonial parade, which was also witnessed by distinguished guests from Jamnagar and parents of the passing out course. Following the parade, the chief guest awarded meritorious officers for excelling in academics, sports and extra-curricular activities. The coveted Chief of Naval Staff Rolling Trophy for standing first in fleet competency board was awarded to Lt Shudhas Watwa Sahoo, while the Admiral Ramnath Trophy for ‘Best All-round Officer’ was awarded to SLt Vinayak Nambiar. The Commander AR Khandekar rolling trophy for standing first in overall order of merit was awarded to Lt Karthik Sudhir. Asst Commandant Maurya Rohit Virendra of Indian Coast Guard was awarded DGCG ‘Best All-Round Officer’ Rolling Trophy.The FOC-in-C (South) Rolling Trophy for standing first in overall order of merit for International trainees was awarded to Lt NIC Namalgamuwage of Sri Lanka. The Admiral later addressed the officers and men on parade, wherein he complimented them on their excellent turnout and standard of drill and advised everyone to foster the spirit of nationalism. He especially congratulated the officers and award winners from the passing out course. The Admiral also praised INS Valsura for the quality training imparted and exhorted them to continue their quest for excellence in this, the 75th anniversary of the establishment.
