Victory Flame visits Gallantry Award Winners of 1971 War

The Swarnim Vijay Varsh Victory Flame that arrived at Mumbai on 01 September 2021 visited gallantry award winners residing in Mumbai on 04 September 2021. The flame was received by Veer Chakra awardees Commodore Inderjeet Singh (Retd), Commander Ashok Kumar (Retd) and Wing Commander B B Soni (Retd) at a solemn ceremony that was attended by family members of the war veterans and officers of the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force. A memento on behalf of the three Armed Forces was presented to the gallantry award winners by Commodore Sanjay Sachdeva, Naval Officer-in-Charge, Maharashtra, in presence of MLAs of their respective constituencies, Dr Bharati Lavekar (Versova) and Mr Ameet Shyam (Andheri West). The ceremony concluded amidst loud calls of Bharat Mata ki Jai by all present, a true reflection of the josh and fighting spirit that was instrumental in India's victory in the 1971 War.
