Vice Admiral GM Hiranandani Rolling Trophy Awarded

Lieutenant Commander Kundan Kumar of Navigation and Direction School was awarded Admiral GM Hiranandani Memorial Rolling Trophy for best performance during the year-long Naval Warfare Specialisation Courses conducted by the Southern Naval Command. The trophy was presented by Vice Admiral AR Karve PVSM, AVSM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command at a ceremony held at Maritime Warfare Centre (Kochi) on 17 March 2018. Mrs Susheel Hiranandani, wife of late Vice Admiral GM Hiranandani, in whose memory the award has been instituted, also graced the occasion along with their son Dr Manick Hiranandani. Book prizes were also awarded to Lieutenant Commander I Deosthalee for standing second, Lieutenant Commanders NJ Prabhune and Jayesh Chandran for standing joint third and to Lieutenant Commanders Arul Avinash, Prabhat Pankaj and SN Ubale for their commendable performance in the Board. The officers undergoing various specialisation courses namely 'Communication and Electronic Warfare', 'Navigation & Direction', 'Gunnery and Missile Warfare' and ‘Anti-Submarine Warfare’, were assessed by a Board of Officers from Maritime Warfare Centre (Kochi) for the award.
