Technology for Training Exhibition

A ‘Technology for Training’ exhibition at Naval Base, Kochi was inaugurated by Vice Admiral AK Chawla, AVSM, NM, VSM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command, accompanied by Lieutenant General PC Thimmaya, PVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Army Training Command and Air Marshal AS Butola, VM, VSM, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Air Force Training Command, Bangalore. The Exhibition was held on the sidelines of the 33rd Tri Services Training Commands Conference (TSTCC) which is in progress at naval Base, Kochi on 11-12 December 19 and attended by the Commanders-in-Chief of the Training Commands of the Indian Army, Indian Navy and IAF and their senior staff.

A total of 25 – 30 tech agencies and firms across the country including civil, such as Xenium Academia Lab Solutions, Maker Village, Unity Technologies, CDAC Chennai and military agency such as NPOL Kochi participated in the exhibition. These firms exhibited their product line in the field of Information Communication Technology, focusing on Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality, which provided an educative and enriching experience to the visitors from the Armed Forces, who would go back with several ideas as to how to incorporate such technologies and equipment in their respective training institutions.

The TSTCC is an annual affair held in rotation by the three services in which various issues pertaining to ‘Tri-Services Training’ are discussed and deliberated. About 30 delegates from the three Services and Headquarters of Integrated Defence Staff are participating in the 33rd TSTCC. The exhibition held this year was a unique event conducted with the overall aim of exploring the possibility of leveraging such cutting-edge technologies so as to enhance the training output and efficiency of the Armed Forces.
