Navy Painting Competition 'Pratibimb' for School Children

As part of the Navy Day Celebrations, the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) is organising Naval Painting Competition 'Pratibimb' for school children at Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium,  Port Sports Complex, Visakhapatnam on Saturday, 12 Nov 2016. The Painting Competition organised by the Fleet Maintenance Unit, under the aegis of the ENC is a much awaited event amongst the young citizens of Visakhapatnam. Rear Admiral Narayan Prasad, NM, Admiral Superintendent, Naval Dockyard (Visakhapatnam), is the Chief Guest for the event and Prof C Ravishankar Pattnaik, Head of Faculty, Department of Fine Arts, Andhra University is the Guest of Honour for the Painting Competition. The overall coordination and execution of the event is being supervised by Commodore DK Murali, Officer-in-Charge, Fleet Maintenance Unit. This year the competition has seen an overwhelming response, with over 1200 students of 70 schools having registered for the competition. The competition is being held under three different categories namely Sub-Junior (LKG to 3rd Std), Junior (4th Std to 7th Std) and Senior (8th Std & above) groups, with different themes for each category. Two separate categories also exist for Children with Special Abilities. The award ceremony for individual prize winners as well the Rolling Trophy for the School with maximum award points, will be held on-board an Eastern Fleet ship, during 'Day at Sea", tentatively scheduled for 25 Nov 2016. The award winners will be permitted to sail on-board the ship with their parents or teachers.
