Naval Community Day celebrations at Meghadripeta Colony
Naval Community Day was organised by families of the Defence Civilian Employees at Meghadripeta Housing Colony, Visakhapatnam on 30 June 2017. Mrs. Jaishree Prasad, the first lady of Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam and the Chief Guest for the event, was received by President, Meghadripeta Ladies Welfare Association along with other ladies of the colony and Shri MSR Raju, Correspondent Visvodaya School.

As part of the Celebrations, Mrs. Jaishree Prasad inaugurated the “Tailoring Club” at Welfare Centre and later inaugurated the newly procured “Play Equipment” at Visvodaya School. She also distributed bi-cycles to the girl students studying 10th class of Visvodaya High School. These bicycles have been donated by the Government of Andhra Pradesh under the programme of “Badi Pilusthondi”. The students of Visvodaya School performed various cultural programmes wherein they showcased their yoga skills. Lectures were also delivered with “Yoga - A Way of Life” theme by the students to celebrate the event. Mrs. Prasad later visited Visvodaya schools and interacted with the teachers.

The event was culminated with visit to Herbal Park of the Colony. The efforts put in by Shri PVN Raju, Naval Dockyard Employee, in bringing up the Herbal Park were highly appreciated by the chief guest.
