Inter-School Navy Quiz Competition – 2020
An annual Inter-school Quiz competition was conducted by Southern Naval Command under the aegis of Naval Wives Welfare Association (NWWA), Southern Region on 28 January 2020 at Sagarika Auditorium, Naval Base. The Quiz was conducted with the objective of enhancing awareness about Indian Navy amongst the school children. Further, Special emphasis was given to educate school children on various sensitive issues such as water conservation, reduction in plastic-usage, gender sensitization, cyber bullying and juvenile delinquency. The competition was conducted in two stages.
A total of 20 schools participated in the preliminary rounds and the top six teams were selected for the final round. Teams from Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya (Thrikkakara), Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir (Elamakkara), Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir (Eroor), Navy Children School (Kochi), Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya (Kakkanad) and Vidyodaya School (Ernakulam) were the finalists. The quiz consisting of six rounds of panorama, jig saw, abbreviations, audio visual, choose your domain and rapid fire rounds was fiercely contested. Team from Navy Children School (Kochi) consisting of Miss Arpita Rajiv and Master Chinmay Pathak bagged the Winners trophy. Team from Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir (Eroor) consisting of Master Siddharth Ranjit and Master Uday Paul George were the runners-up. Chief guest for the event Mrs Sapana Chawla, President, NWWA(SR) gave away the trophies and certificates. The event was co-ordinated by Naval Aeronautical Quality Assurance Service (NAQAS).
