INS Chilka Conducts Marine Orientation Course for BSF

60 Border Security Force (BSF) personnel successfully underwent Marine Orientation Course at INS Chilka from 23 April to 05 May 2018. During the course BSF personnel were taught various naval subjects like collision avoidance rules, navigational equipment, chart work, boat work, survival at sea, rope work, rigging, Visit Board Search and Seizure operation, anchor work, damage control and firefighting. In addition, regular sports activities between BSF personnel and trainees and staff of INS Chilka were also conducted during the course. Constable Chandan KR Singh and Sub-Inspector Amit Kumar stood first and second respectively in the course. Commodore Manish Misra, Commanding Officer INS Chilka awarded certificates to the meritorious trainees.
