Indian Navy Wins 67th Inter-  Services Hockey Championship Hosted by INA, Ezhimala

Indian Navy lifted the Inter – Services Hockey Championship Trophy while Indian Army (Red) stood second in the event that ended at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala on 19 December 2019.

The finals and the prize distribution ceremony was held at ‘Nandy Hockey Fields’ of INA on 19 December 2019. The four teams viz Indian Army (Red), Indian Army (Green), Indian Navy and Indian Air Force comprised very talented service players, some of who have represented India also.

The maiden historic win was bagged by Navy Services team against Army Red in a nail biting match in which both teams displayed skill, stick work, stamina, grit and determination. In the final match, the first goal was scored by Havildar Chandan from Army Red in the first quarter. The Navy team fought hard to come back from a goal down and won the match by 5-3 goals. The top scorer of the match was Jugraj Singh, POCOM (TEL) with 3 goals.

The Army Red were the runners up while Air force stood third and Army Green at fourth position. The Services team selected will now be competing at National Level.

The event was graced by Vice Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, AVSM, NM, Commandant INA who presented the coveted trophy and medals to the winning team.
