Indian Naval Ships Satpura and Kadmatt Visit Chittagong, Bangladesh

Indian Naval Ships Satpura and Kadmatt arrived at Chittagong, Bangladesh to participate in the Indian Navy - Bangladesh Navy (BN) Coordinated Patrol (lN-BN CORPAT) on 25 June 2018.  Instituted as an annual feature between Indian and Bangladesh Navy, the maiden CORPAT will be inaugurated by Admiral Sunil Lanba, Chief of the Naval Staff on 27 June 2018. The BN will be represented in the CORPAT by BN Ships Abu Bakr and Dhaleshwari. As part of CORPAT, ships and aircraft from both the navies including a Dornier aircraft of the Indian Navy will be deployed to carry out patrolling in their respective areas of responsibility. A Joint Planning Meeting with Commanding Officers of the participating ships and CSO to Commodore Commanding BN Flotilla was conducted at Chittagong. The Commanding Officers of INS Satpura and Kadmatt called on Rear Admiral M Abu Ashraf, Commander Chittagong Naval Area and Commodore Zulfiqur Aziz, Chairman Chittagong Port Authority. As part of cross visits, 46 sailors and seven officers from IN Ships visited BNS Shaheed Mozzam and were briefed about the training facilities. Indian Navy personnel also visited BNS Bangabandhu and Bangladesh Naval Academy. In addition, trainees from Bangladesh Naval Academy visited the IN Ships.
