Hindi Fortnight Celebrations at Southern Naval Command

The closing ceremony of the Hindi Fortnight celebrations of the Southern Naval Command held from 14 to 28 September 2017 was conducted at naval base, Kochi on 04 October 2017. Vice Admiral A R Karve, AVSM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command (SNC), the chief guest of the occasion, released the twelfth edition of `Dakshini Vani', the in-house Hindi Journal besides giving away certificates and cash prizes to the winners of various competitions.

A wide variety of competitions were held throughout the fortnight. A workshop on Official Language Policy for officers, and various Hindi competitions were the highlights of the celebrations which was widely participated by service and civilian personnel from Hindi speaking as well as non-Hindi speaking categories. The closing ceremony was attended by a large gathering of service and civilian personnel of SNC who were entertained with a “Music Concert” organized from the talent within the navy.

Hindi Fortnight is regularly celebrated at SNC as part of the government policy of encouraging “Rajya bhasha”.
