The fourth edition of Federal Bank Kochi Navy Marathon was conducted by SNC

The fourth edition of Federal Bank Kochi Navy Marathon was conducted by SNC on 17 Dec 2023. Under the vibrant skies at KV Port Trust Ground, Willingdon Island, the Marathon unfolded with resounding footsteps of more than 3000 participants from defence as well as civil populace from Kerala and other states showcasing an inspiring amalgamation of unity and endurance. The event is one of the many outreach activities conducted by SNC as part of Navy Week 23 celebrations. The marathon featured three challenging categories: the grueling 21km Venduruthy Run, the competitive 10km Dronacharya Run, and inclusive 5km Garuda Run. The event witnessed an overwhelming participation from children, youth, senior citizens, Naval personnel and their families in various race categories. The participants had an enriching experience as they received a race Tshirt and race category specific finisher's medal at the end of race. In addition to abundant hydration and nutrition points, various convenience and medical stations were positioned at vantage points along the route. The proactive support of sponsors and partners- Kerala Blasters, Kravin, Yakult, Aster Med City, Regain, Ayurkshetra and Center Square Mall made the event a huge success. VAdm MA Hampiholi, FOCINC SNC, the Chief Guest for the event participated in race exemplifying the spirit of sportsmanship, perseverance and physical fitness. During his address, he brought out that "The Kochi Navy Marathon is not just a race; it's a testament to the spirit of our forces and the community. This event underscores our commitment to a healthy lifestyle and the shared values that bind us together." During award ceremony, a total of 54 awards were presented to outstanding individuals who demonstrated exemplary performance and dedication across diverse race categories. Sajith KM, Hemant Kumar and Rohan Menon stood first in Men's category of 21Km, 10km and 5Km category respectively. In female category Rema AK, Priyanka Singh and Neethu Shukoor stood first in 21km, 10km and 5km category respectively. SNC widely acknowledges support of city and people of Kochi, district administration, police authorities, hospitals for medical cover, volunteers, esteemed guests and sponsors for successful conduct of event. The Kochi Navy Marathon 23 stands as a testament to the commitment of participants, sponsors and partners making the event a celebration of perseverance and community spirit.
