Combined Operational Review and Evaluation (CORE) Programme Commences at NWC, Goa

Naval War College commenced its Combined Operational and Review Evaluation (CORE) programme on 24 June 2019. The CORE programme is a development programme for senior officers of Major General and Joint Secretary equivalent from the Armed Forces as well as Civil Services. The programme is focused on regional and national security issues and strives to attain more synergy, cohesiveness and jointmanship between the Indian Armed Forces and the other organs of the Government of India. The programme was inaugurated by Flag Officer Commanding in Chief, Southern Naval Command. The week-long programme will see senior officers study, revise, debate, brainstorm and analyse higher-level defence and strategic issues. The programme will also expose the participants to the corporate sector in an endeavour to foster greater cooperation and synergy between the politico-military-civil sector combine. Domain experts from the government, military, diplomatic corps, reputed think tanks and private sector will share their views on varied subjects like national security environment, military strategy, command and control, joint operations, internal security, counterinsurgency, terrorism, defence production, R&D, combat capabilities and media interaction. The CORE programme also has a dedicated wargaming scenario being played out in a table-top discussion format this year, to allow the soldier-thinker-strategist student body to practically analyse the interplay of various geopolitical factors that influence our region.
