Civilian Athletic Championship at Naval Base, Kochi

SNC Civilian Athletic Championship, concluded at  Naval Base, Kochi on 29 January 2020. The annual event for civilian employees of SNC saw participation of 300 civilian employees, including 90 women from six units viz., INS Venduruthy, Naval Ship Repair Yard (Kochi), Material Organisation (Kochi), Naval Aircraft Yard (Kochi), Naval Armament Depot (Alwaye) and INS Zamorin (Ezhimala) participated in the meet. A total of 20 events in the men's category and 11 events in the women's category were conducted during the Championship. In addition, team events such as Tug of war for both men and women, as well as 800 metres walk for veterans were also conducted. NAD (A) emerged as the Overall Champions while INS Venduruthy bagged the second position. The Individual Championship trophy in the men's category was shared by Shri S Sharfiaz of  INS Venduruthy and Shri KR Rahul Lal of NSRY(K) and in the women's category it was shared by Ms V Akhila Mol of NAD(A) and Ms Vijina of INS Zamorin. Chief of Staff, SNC, Chief Guest for the Closing Ceremony, presented trophies and medals to the winners.
