'Bharat Parv' - School Children Visit Naval Base, Kochi

As part of the ‘Bharat Parv’ activities, 1,075 students from 16 schools visited Naval Base, Kochi on 30 and 31 January 2018. The aim of the visit was to instill a sense of pride in the children about the Armed Forces and to acquaint them with the role and mission of the Indian Navy. The school children were given a conducted tour of Indian Naval Ships Sutlej and Shardul and were briefed on the role and equipment fit. This was followed by a visit to Naval Air Station INS Garuda, where they were familarised with various fixed wing aircraft and helicopters operated by the Indian Navy. The children also witnessed a concert by the Indian Naval Band as part of the visit.
