Admiral Sunil Lanba, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, Chairman COSC & CNS Releases Joint Doctrine Indian Armed Forces - 2017
Admiral Sunil Lanba, PVSM, AVSM, ADC Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee (COSC) and Chief of the Naval Staff released a revised version of Joint Doctrine Indian Armed Forces - 2017 in the presence of Chief of the Army Staff, Chief of the Air Staff and Chief of the Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman COSC on 25 April 2017. “Jointness and Integration” in the Armed Forces is the order of the day like any other facet of life and therefore release of this Doctrine could not have come at a more opportune time.
The Joint Doctrine Indian Armed Forces will serve as a cornerstone document for application of Military Power in a synergized manner leading to enhanced efficiency, optimum utilization of resources and financial savings. It will also establish a broad framework of concepts and principles to understand our approach to Joint Planning and conduct of operations across all the domains of conflict i.e. land, air, sea, space and cyber-space. In addition, the Doctrine will also serve as a reference document for all the three Services to plan integrated operations.
