Activities conducted at Maldives by the Indian contingents and INS Sharda

On the occasion of 75th Independence Day of India, various activities were conducted at Maldives by the Indian contingents and INS Sharda. These included celebrations by Indian Dornier Contingent at Hanimaadhoo, which was attended by representatives of all agencies at Hanimaadhoo viz Council, Airport Services, AVSECOM, Customs and Immigration, School, Island Aviation, HPA, Police and MNDF. All Maldivians were highly appreciative of humanitarian Med Evac missions undertaken by Dornier especially at night. The Indian Navy ALH team at Kadhdhoo, Maldives celebrated Indo-Maldivian friendship with MNDF Central Area Commander Colonel Ibrahim Hilmy, MNDF personnel, Laamu Gan Council President and members, support staff from Airport and Maldivian staff. The Maldivian side underscored the support of the aircraft for the humanitarian support and medical evacuations from remote islands. 50 MNDF personnel were hosted onboard INS Sharda to celebrate the 75th Independence Day of India. In addition, a celebratory lunch was organized at Senahiya hospital, Maldives. More than 100 guests from Senahiya attended the same. The occasion was a success and contributed immensely towards the strong relations.
