Second Edition of Offshore Race was Conducted at Western Naval Command

The second edition of WNC Offshore Race was conducted from 29 February to 01 March 2020. Chief Staff Officer (Personnel and Administration), WNC flagged off the race from the Gateway of India. Members of the Royal Bombay Yacht Club (RBYC), Bombay Merchants Club and Indian Navy Watermanship Training Center (Mumbai) participated in the 100 nautical mile race, which was open to all sailing yachts greater than seven meter in length, having fixed keel and capable of sailing overnight. The yachts rounded a mark ship off Murud Janjira before sailing back to Mumbai. The boats negotiated dense shipping and fishing whilst racing with their counterparts. Keel boat ‘Skadoosh’ (a J 122 E Class yacht, also referred to as ‘The Angry Bird’), skippered by Mr Nandan Chandavarkar of RBYC, was declared winner of the race.
