Visit of Royal Navy of Oman Ship Shinas and Royal Yacht Zinat Al Bihaar to Kochi 10- 14 November 2018

Royal Yacht Zinat Al Bihaar commanded by Lieutenant Commander Salim Bin Mohammed bin Ali Al Moani and Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) Ship Shinas commanded by Lieutenant Ammar Alkaabi are on a visit to Kochi. The Royal Yacht will participate in the Tall Ship Sail Together from Kochi to Muscat along with IN Ships Tarangini and Sudarshini, as part of the 10th Anniversary celebrations of Indian Ocean Naval Symposium. The Commanding Officers of the Royal Yacht and RNO Ship accompanied by Commodore Thabit, Resident Defence Attaché, Oman and Captain Hill, Director (Operations) of the Royal Yacht Squadron called on Vice Admiral AK Chawla Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command and held discussions on subjects of common interest to both navies. The Royal Yacht was received at Kochi by the Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command. A traditional Kathakali dance was also performed for the visitors. The Commanding Officer of the Royal Yacht welcomed the Chief of Staff and other dignitaries on board and gave them a tour of his ship. The Tall Ship Sail Together event is planned to be flagged off by the Hon’ble Raksha Mantri on 14 November 2018 from Kochi and the ships will arrive Muscat in end November 2018.
