Combined Commanders’ Conference (CCC) – 15
Combined Commanders’ Conference 2015 was conducted onboard INS Vikramaditya on 15 Dec 15. The Conference was chaired by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi and attended by Hon’ble RM, NSA, Three Service Chiefs, and personnel from all three defence Forces. For the first time the Conference was conducted at a field venue, as directed Hon’ble PM.

Vice Admiral Ram Rutberg, Commander-in-Chief Israeli Navy accompanied by spouse and two staff members visited Mumbai 25-26 Aug 15. During the visit Vice Admiral Ram Rutberg interacted with Vice Admiral SPS Cheema, the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Rear Admiral Hari Kumar, FOCWF and Rear Admiral JG Nadkarni, FODC. He also visited Apollo Bunder Museum, Heritage Hall and indigenously built Indian Naval Ship Kolkata. India and Israel have come a long way towards nurturing a strategic relationship. Defence relationship between the two countries is gradually maturing into one of mutual trust and confidence, especially against the war on global terrorism.

Rear Admiral Abdullah Bin Khamis Bin Abdullah Al Raisi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman accompanied by three staff officers visited Mumbai 08-09 Sep 15. During the visit he held discussions with Vice Admiral SPS Cheema, the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Rear Admiral RM Purandare, FODAG and Rear Admiral Hari Kumar, FOCWF. He also visited Naval Training Base INS Shivaji, indigenously built Indian warship INS Beas and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (earlier Prince of Wales museum).

India and Oman have close historical and cultural ties. Enhanced Naval cooperation with the Royal Oman Navy provides the Indian Navy with a professional ally in the Indian Ocean Region which has become extremely fragile with the increasing influence of extra regional powers, counter-terrorism and marine security.

VISIT OF CHINESE DESTROYER JINAN (D-152) TO MUMBAI (20-24 JUL 15)
PLA Navy (PLAN) Destroyer Jinan (D-152) visited Mumbai from 20-24 Jul 2015 for OTR. The ship is a front-line vessel of the PLAN and the fifth of the Luyang–II Type 052C Destroyers constructed at Jiangnan shipyard, Shanghai. It was inducted in the East Sea Fleet on 23 Dec 2014. The ship is one of the vessels of the 20th Anti-Piracy Task Force (APTF) deployed in the Gulf of Aden and left Daxie Dao on 31 Mar 2015.

The ship was refuelled and undertook replenishment of rations during the stay at Mumbai Port Trust. PLAN sailors took the opportunity to visit Marine Drive, Taj Hotel, Gateway of India, Prince of Wales Museum, Mumbai University, Chttrapati Shivaji Terminus, Colaba Causeway and Phoenix Mall.

HE Le Yucheng (PRC Ambassador), Zhen XiYuan (Counselor, Mumbai), Maj Gen Wang Xiaojun (DA, PRC), Sr Capt Wang Jianxun (Leader of 20th Anti-Piracy Task Force in Gulf of Aden) and Capt Liu Mian (CO Jinan) were welcomed by the CoS on 23 Jul 2015 during a call-on at HQ WNC where gifts and crests were exchanged. The CoS congratulated the PLAN vessel for a successful deployment while the Sr Capt Wang Jianxun, Cdr 20th Anti-Piracy Task Force expressed his admiration for the professional and technical expertise of the IN
Visit of DR (MS) Ursula Von Der Leyen - Defence Minister of Germany to HQ WNC 27-28 May 15
The German delegate meeting
The German delegation led by Dr (MS) Ursula Von Der Leyen, German Defence Minister visited WNC on 27 May 15. Consul Gen Michael Siegert, Dr von Geyr, DG Def Policy, Lt Gen Kneip, DG Strategy and Ops, Col Hubner, MA and Lt Col Walter, Dy DA called on the COS prior to the presentation by CPLO. The Def Min queried about IN Anti-Piracy Ops off the Somali coast and was briefed on the same. The present Combined Task Force structure was also explained and the presence of USN warships alongwith multi-national forces in the area discussed.
