Eastern Fleet Ships on Overseas Deployment to Malaysia and Thailand

In pursuance of India’s Act East policy, Indian Naval Ships Sahyadri and Shakti are on a visit to Sattahip, Thailand and INS Kamorta is on a visit to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. The current visit to the two countries seeks to enhance maritime cooperation and bolster India’s strong bonds of friendship with Thailand and Malaysia that would further contribute towards security and stability in the region. As part of the visit, professional interactions with the Royal Thai and Royal Malaysian Navies have been planned with the aim to enhance cooperation between the navies. In addition, sporting and cultural interactions aimed at strengthening ties and mutual understanding between the navies have also been planned.
