Indian Naval Academy Course (BTech)

The INAC (BTech) aspiring male students upon successful completion of their 10+2 scholastic system with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as their senior secondary electives, have to clear the national level entrance examination conducted by UPSC (twice a year) followed by the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview, which is a five day long comprehensive assessment of various officer like qualities (OLQ) or the qualities required to become a Naval officer. Successful aspirants are called for joining the Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) which is the flagship course at INA. At the core of the training curriculum for this course is a full-fledged, four-year ‘BTech.’ Degree Course run under the aegis of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, and fully supported and supervised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Cadets of the INAC (BTech) course are subjected to the academic rigours of a carefully-structured syllabus spread over a four-year period.  Successful cadets are awarded a ‘Bachelor of Technology’ degree in any one of the streams viz., 'Applied Electronics & Communication', ‘Electronics-and-Communications’, or ‘Mechanical Engineering’.  The stringency of this ‘B.Tech.’ programme is over and above the demands of a ‘parallel’ syllabus that involves training in a number of disciplines and subjects relevant to the Indian Navy and its leadership.
