Swachhata Sewa Campaign Conducted at Station Ezhimala

As part of ‘Swachhta Sewa’ campaign, a voluntary mass cleanliness drive was carried out at Naval station Ezhimala from 15 September to 02 October 2020. The event saw overwhelming and wholehearted participation of Naval personnel, civilians and Defence Security Corps (DSC) of Indian Naval Academy, INS Zamorin and INHS Navjivani along with their family members and children whilst adhering to all safety protocols of COVID 19.

The activities included cleaning of Zamorin beach, clearing of storm/ rainwater drains, pruning of hedges and maintenance of gardens. Special attention was given towards segregating biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste, eco-friendly waste management, removal of plastic debris and educating personnel and families on best practices to maintain the common goal of plastic free Ezhimala. Personnel at station Ezhimala carry out regular cleanliness drives to achieve and inculcate healthy environmental practices towards realising a clean and hygienic campus.
