Swachhta Awareness Health Walk Organised at Visakhapatnam

Swachhta Health Walk was organised at Visakhapatnam as closing activity on 15 December 2019. Over 2000 naval personnel, families and school children participated in the event flagged off from INS Circars by the children in the presence of Chief of Staff ENC and was aimed to create awareness about healthy living in a clean environment.  The Swachhta anthem was played along with the conduct of yoga and display of motivational posters by Navy Children School students before commencement of the 6 Km walk which was conjoined with plogging activity in the civil area from Dolphin Hill main gate to Sagar Kanaka Durga Temple. Over 200 kg of plastic waste has been removed by the participants during the activity. The event culminated with the conduct of Hasya yoga and troop games. In addition, Community Awareness Lectures were conducted  in all residential colonies of naval personnel and defence civilian emphasising on the importance of waste segregation and management during the fortnight. All the residents were briefed on the correct methodology to be followed for segregation of waste at source to ensure proper disposal by waste handlers.
