Swachhta Pakhwada at Western Naval Command

Swachhta Pakhwada is being observed by all units and establishments under WNC from 01 to 15 December 2019. Under Maharashtra Naval Area, MO (Mumbai) organised a mass shramdaan followed by Plogging run and dedication of murals on the theme of cleanliness. Students of NCS (Mankhurd) participated in a Plogging Run, in which they picked up litter and waste while jogging. KV (Colaba) and NCS (Colaba) organised a cleanliness drive at Navy Nagar for students and parents to spread the message of cleanliness through placards and banners. INS Tunir organised a Plogging Run for personnel at Naval Station Karanja. Gujarat Naval Area conducted tree plantation drives and lectures on importance of waste segregation, in addition to a Plogging Run for personnel. Units under Goa Naval Area organised Swachhta awareness lectures, tree plantation and cleanliness drive along the Beach. INS Hansa inaugurated an organic waste convertor and students of NCS (Goa) participated in Swachhta Poster Making and self composed poem reading activities. Under Karnataka Naval Area, NCS (Karwar) organised a mass cleanliness drive at the Kamat Beach near Karwar Naval Base.
