Passing Out of Direct Entry Electrical Mechanic Course

370 trainees of the Direct Entry Electrical Mechanic (Power and Radio) course, including 20 Naviks from the Indian Coast Guard, five sailors from Sri Lanka Navy and two Inspectors from the Mauritius Police Force graduated from INS Valsura on 13 September 2019 on completion of their specialisation training in Electrical Engineering. During the 26 weeks course the trainees were exposed to a broad spectrum of technology subjects including Basic Electricity, Electronics, Control System, Communication Equipment and Technical Administration with emphasis on practical and hands on training. Apart from the technical training, the curriculum also included regular physical and outdoor training for holistic development. Controller Warship Production and Acquisition reviewed the POP and presented awards to meritorious trainees. The Admiral Ramnath Trophy for ‘Best All-Round Sailor’ was awarded to Partha Pratim Adhikari, NVK(R) and Commanding Officer INS Valsura Trophy for ‘Best Sportsman’ to Yende Shubham Kailash, DEEM(R). Book Prize for ‘Best Coast Guard Trainee (Power)’, ‘Best Coast Guard Trainee (Radio)’ and ‘Best International Trainee’ was awarded to Poopandi M, NVK(P), Rajesh Kanna M, NVK(R) and Philippe Louis Warren, PO(R) from the Mauritius Police Force, respectively.
