Indian Naval Teams Mobilised to Provide Assistance in Flood Affected Areas in Kolhapur and Sangli Districts - Update 1
Five additional rescue teams of the Indian Navy were airlifted by an Indian Air Force AN-32 aircraft from Mumbai on 07 August 2019 to augment rescue efforts at Kolhapur. Five naval rescue teams that travelled from Mumbai to Pune by road on the night of 06/07 August 2019 are being airlifted by another AN-32. In addition, four more teams mobilised from Goa Naval Area by naval Dornier aircraft and ALH helicopters reached Kolhapur on 07 August 2019 and began assisting people in distress near Shivaji bridge and Chikli village. Rescue and evacuation ops are continuing.
