INS Netaji Subhas Commemorates 20th Kargil Vijay Diwas

As part of Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebrations, INS Netaji Subhas conducted a station walkathon on 26 July 2019, which was flagged off by the junior-most sailor of the Station. Service personnel from all allied units of Naval Station Kolkata, including IN Ships at GRSE, DSC personnel, Defence Civilians and families participated in the event. The Walkathon was preceded by a brief on Kargil Operation and participation of the Indian Navy in the War. A solemn wreath-laying ceremony was conducted at the Lascar War Memorial to pay tribute to the Kargil martyrs. Naval Officer-in-Charge, West Bengal also attended the wreath-laying ceremony at Vijay Smarak, Fort William, which was led by GOC-in-C Eastern Command. Several senior officers from the Armed Forces and State Government participated in the event. In addition, NWWA Kolkata organised a workshop for school children from eight schools at Kolkata in coordination with Lakshmipat Singhania Academy.
