Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebrations at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala

A wreath laying ceremony to commemorate the 20th year of Kargil Vijay Diwas was held at Prerna Sthal – War Memorial of INA on 26 July 2019. Vice Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, AVSM, NM, Commandant INA and senior officers of station Ezhimala observed two minutes silence to honour the sacrifice of the brave soldiers and airmen who successfully evicted the Pakistani intruders in Kargil in 1999.

As part of the day’s celebrations, station Ezhimala organised a walkathon from Payyannur Railway station to INA in the evening. Officers, sailors, and civilians along with their family members took part in the event. The event was flagged off by Vice Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi,  AVSM, NM, Commandant, INA.

To add on to the celebrations, Indian Naval Academy will be open to public on 27 July 2019 (Saturday) from 1000 hrs to 1600 hrs. Individuals in possession of valid government issued photo identity card may visit the academy this day through Payyannur gate of INA.

The prestigious Indian Naval Academy band will perform at Gandhi Park, Payyannur for the public from 1700 hrs onwards on 28 July 2019. The performance will be a mix of martial and popular tunes that will bring up patriotism and motivate the youngsters of the nation.

A cycling expedition undertaken by Kannur Cycling Club from Kannur themed “Be With Our Soldiers”  will reach INA on 28 July 2019. The expedition is a follow up of the celebrations of Kargil Vijay Diwas. The expedition team will be joined by the cycling enthusiasts from Station Ezhimala in their final leg.
