Community Interaction Programme Organised at Fishing Village at Visakhapatnam

As part of Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebrations, a special Community Interaction Programme was conducted for the fishermen at fishing harbour, Visakhapatanam by Naval Officer-in-Charge (Andhra Pradesh) along with the representatives from Indian Coast Guard, Marine Police and Fisheries Department on 25 July 2019. Community Interaction Programme was preceded by screening of a telefilm on Kargil Operation and participation of Indian Navy in Operation Vijay. An interactive session was organised for the fishermen highlighting their role in combating terrorism arising from the seas, coastal security, maritime law and their contribution as the “eyes and ears” of the Coastal Security construct. The event concluded with a friendly volleyball match between the village youth and the naval personnel.
