CISF Marine Orientation Course Conducted at INS Chilka

60 personnel of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) successfully underwent the 36th Marine Orientation Course at INS Chilka from 21 January to 02 February 2019. The 15-day course was aimed to equip CISF personnel with knowledge to take on coastal security threats. During the course the participants were imparted instructions on various naval subjects like Rules of Road, navigational equipment, chart work, boat work, survival at sea, rope work, rigging, VBSS (Visit Board Search and Seizure) operations, anchor work, fire fighting and first aid. Regular sports activities between CISF personnel and INS Chilka trainees and Ship’s company were also conducted during the course. Commanding Officer INS Chilka awarded certificates to meritorious trainees of the course. Amit Sharma, Constable GD and Challan Narayan Rao, Constable GD stood first and second respectively in the course.
