Inter-School Navy Quiz – 2018

The annual Inter-School Quiz competition was conducted by Southern Naval Command on 21 November 2018 in Sagarika Auditorium, Naval Base as a part of Navy Week activities, with the objective of enhancing awareness about Indian Navy amongst school children. The theme for the Quiz competition was ‘Stop Global Warming – Save our Home’.

The team from Bhavan’s Vidyamandir, Eroor consisting of Master Sidharth Renjit and Aakash Raj was adjudged as the champions and bagged the rolling trophy, while the team from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Tripunithara consisting of Miss Meera Anil and Nanditha J was declared as the runners-up. The Chief Guest for the event, Mrs Sapana Chawla, President, Navy Wives Welfare Association, Southern Region, gave away the trophy, awards and merit certificates.

The competition was conducted in two stages. A total of 21 schools participated in the preliminary round, with the top six taking part in the finals. Teams from Bhavan’s Vidyamandir, Eroor, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Kannamaly, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Tripunithara, Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya, Thrikkakara, Bhavan’s Vidyamandir, Elamakkara and Navyl Children School, Naval Base were the finalists.

The event was co-ordinated by Naval Aeronautical Quality Assurance Service (NAQAS), and supported by the Aeronautical Society of India.
