Bilateral Meetings Held During IONS Anniversary

A series of bilateral meetings were held between the Chief of the Naval Staff and Chairman COSC Admiral Sunil Lanba and Chiefs of Navies and Heads of Delegations of Iran, Mauritius, Japan and Maldives on the sidelines of 10th Anniversary Commemorative Events of the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium. Discussions during the bilateral meetings revolved around strategies to promote a shared understanding of maritime issues faced by the region, formulate cooperative mechanisms to enhance regional maritime security and strengthen capabilities and interoperability to ensure speedy response to requirements of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief in the IOR. The bilateral meetings culminated with exchange of mementos.
