ANC Conducts Joint Search And Rescue Exercise - 'VIMAAN'

A joint services Search and Rescue (SAR) exercise code named VIMAAN was conducted by Andaman Nicobar Command (ANC) at North Cinque Island on 09 November 2018. The exercise included search for survivors and life-rafts from a simulated aircraft crash, their rescue followed by evacuation. Air assets, ships and personnel of the Indian Navy, Indian Army, Indian AirForce and Indian Coast Guard operating in an integrated and seamless manner were exercised to locate and rescue the survivors. The exercise helped to practice and consolidate SAR drills and procedures. It also gave an opportunity to the forces of ANC to validate interoperability.
