Navy Continues Relief Operations in Odisha

Indian Navy Chetak helicopters positioned at AD College Gopalpur operated from Rangeilunda helipad and air dropped food packets in inaccessible areas of Ganjam and Gajapati districts on 13 October 2018. About nineteen locations identified by the District Administration are being supplied with food by the helicopters. In addition, a Seaking helicopter was flown-in from Vizag to argument the relief effort. The operations, on ground, are being coordinated by Naval Officer-in-Charge (Odisha). A naval Diving Team with Gemini boat has been deployed at Aska for evacuation and to provide assistance as requested by the District Administration. Diving Teams have also been deployed at Ichapuram. Shri Naveen Patnaik, Hon'ble CM of Odisha interacted with the pilots of naval helicopters associated with the relief operations on 13 October 2018.
