Vice Admiral Ravneet Singh AVSM, NM
Vice Admiral Ravneet Singh AVSM, NM was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 01 Jul 1983 and has specialised in Aviation.
The Flag Officer is a Qualified Flying Instructor with Master Green instrument rating and has flown HT 2, Kiran HJT 16 (MK I, MK IA & MK II), TS 11 Iskra, Hunter, Harrier Gr 3, Sea Harrier, Jet Provost, Chetak, Gazelle, Hawk and MiG 29 KUB aircraft during his illustrious career. He has also commanded various frontline ships and Naval Air Squadrons including INS Himgiri, INS Ranvijay, INS Ranvir, INAS 551B, INAS 300 and INS Hansa. Additionally, he was also appointed Indian Defence Advisor (Kenya, Tanzania and Seychelles).
His Flag appointments in the rank of Rear Admiral include Assistant Controller Carrier Project (ACCP) and Assistant Controller Warship Production and Acquisition (ACWP&A) at IHQ MoD (Navy), Flag Officer Goa Area (FOGA)/ Flag Officer Naval Aviation (FONA) at Goa and Flag Officer Commanding Western Fleet (FOCWF) at Mumbai. Upon promotion to the rank of Vice Admiral in October 2016, the Flag Officer was appointed as the Chief Of Staff, Western Naval Command at Mumbai.
The Admiral has undergone the Harrier Conversion Course with the Royal Air Force at Wittering, UK and is a graduate of the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington.
Vice Admiral Ranveet Singh has been decorated with the Nausena Medal in 2004 for Gallantry and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2017 for distinguished service.
