Training Camps Concludes at Indian Naval Academy
Training camps ‘Samudramanthan’ for IV term and ‘Varuna’ for VII term cadets of Indian Naval Academy (INA) were conducted from 05 to 08 September 2018. A total of 211 cadets participated in the camps. The camps were aimed at developing esprit-de-corps, camaraderie, leadership qualities, physical endurance as well as mental strength amongst cadets under conditions of stress abiding by Navy’s core values - Duty, Honour and Courage. The camp activities comprised various endurance runs, small arms firing including at night, obstacle course, Whaler boat pulling in Kavvayi backwaters and sailing in open seas along with other seamanship evolutions. The cadets also participated in a quadrathlon comprising a 25 kilometres run through varied terrain in full battle gear followed by long distance swimming, obstacle course run and firing. The four-day camp culminated with a camp fire. Braveheart Squadron won the Camp Banner for ‘Samudramanthan’ and Eagle Squadron for ‘Varuna’ for Autumn Term 2018.
