Festival of Sails Regatta Comes to a Close

The Festival of Sails Regatta was jointly conducted by the Indian Naval Watermanship Training Centre (INWTC) and the Royal Bombay Yacht Club (RBYC) and promoted by the Sailing Association of Maharashtra from 23 to 25 March 2018 at Mumbai. The aim of the Festival of Sails Regatta and the C-in-C Cup Keel Boat Race was to promote sailing and yachting activities in Mumbai. 45 sail boats with 100 participants from Mumbai, Goa, Pune and Kochi participated in the event, wherein a total of 32 races were conducted in different classes of sailboats. Premier Cruz Yacht, skippered by Ashim Mongia won the C-in-C keel boat cup race. The award ceremony was held at INWTC, Mumbai, wherein Vice Admiral Girish Luthra, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Western Naval Command, President RBYC and President, Sailing Association of Maharashtra presented awards to the winners. Vice Admiral Luthra, himself a keen yachtsman, participated in the Keel Boat Race.
