Golden Globe Race - 2018 (Update 6)

Commander Abhilash Tomy of the Indian Navy is representing India in the Golden Globe Race 2018 (GGR) on an indigenously built sailing vessel ‘Thuriya’. The race commenced on 01 July 2018 and Commander Abhilash is presently in 4th position and has sailed over 9,800 nautical miles in the last 75 days. He crossed the Cape of Good Hope on 01 September 2018 and is presently in the Southern part of the Indian Ocean. He had a minor flooding incident and a defect on the wind-pilot steering system, both of which have been rectified by the officer.
