Mount Kun Expedition by HQ ENC

A 08 member team of mountaineers proceeded on an expedition to Mount Kun in the Zanskar region from 26 Aug 15. Three mountaineers viz Lt Cdr S Karthikeyan, Lt Yogesh Tiwari and Lt Anant Kukreti were successful in summiting the peak at 7077 mtrs on 10 Sep 15. Three others including Lt Nidhi Taneja reached the summit camp at 6329 mtrs. Mt Kun is a technical peak, termed as a pre Everest expedition in the mountaineering fraternity. The height of over 7000 mtrs makes it a daunting task.
