Annual Joint Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Exercise 2018

The Southern Naval Command is scheduled to conduct Joint HADR Exercise 2018 christened ‘Chakravath’ from 05 to 08 April 2018 at BTP Jetty, Kochi. The exercise themed on ‘Cyclone’ will see participation of the Indian Armed Forces, Central Police Organisations, Civil Administration, NGOs and vendors. The exercise will commence with a seminar encompassing experience sharing and presentation of plans by eminent speakers from the State Administration, Armed Forces and the field of academia. This will be followed by a Skill Demonstration, showcasing capabilities of the Indian Armed Forces and National and State agencies in carrying out disaster relief and crisis management. As part of the skill demonstration, a Disaster Relief Camp and a Field Hospital will be set up. Additionally, a ship of the Indian Navy, converted into a Hospital Ship, will also be berthed at the BTP Jetty. The Exercise will also include an exhibition, wherein various National and State agencies, NGOs and vendors will display equipment used for disaster management. During the exhibition, training sessions will also be conducted for volunteers by the State Disaster Management Authority, DHS and Fire and Rescue Services. The Field Hospital, Disaster Relief Camp and Exhibition would be open to public from 1100 to 1800 hours on 06, 07 and 08 April 2018.
