SAR - Maldivian Landing Craft 'Maria 3'

Indian Naval Ship Kirch and an IN Dornier aircraft helped locate and provide assistance to a Maldivian Landing Craft 'Maria 3' late evening on 20 May 2017. The vessel was adrift about 135 nautical miles South East of Male and was located by the Indian Naval units more than 60 nautical miles from its last known position. The landing craft's forward ramp had collapsed due to which she was unable to propel. It has been confirmed that all crew members on the vessel are safe. A joint boarding party was sent at first light on 21 May 2017 to provide further assistance to the vessel.
