Launch Ceremony of Sri Lankan AOPV at GSL, GOA 10 Jun 16

India is constructing two advanced offshore Patrol Vessels at Goa Shipyard Ltd for Sri Lankan Navy. The ships represent high stand ard of ship construction technology and quality of Indian Shipyards. The vessels, when commissioned will be the most advanced ships of Sri Lanka Navy  which have been customised to meet their requirements. The keel of the first ship was laid in Sep 14 and was launched on 10 Jun 16. The launch was witnessed by Mr Karunasena Hettiarachchi, Sri Lankan Defence Secretary and Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy and Senior Officers of Indian Navy. The ships will be delivered in 2017 and the second ship by 2018.
