Electrical Equipment School

The Electrical Equipment School (LES) is one of the premier schools of INS Valsura responsible for imparting equipment training to all Officers and Sailors of the Electrical Branch. The school imparts hands on training on various state of art radars, weapons and sensors fitted onboard Indian Naval ships. The School trains the Officers, Sailors and civilian personnel of the Indian Navy and the Officers and personnel of the Coast Guard and friendly foreign Navies in the operation, maintenance & repairs of specific Electrical Weapons, Sensors, Gyro & Nav-aids, Communication, Command & Control and Data Distribution equipment fitted on board Naval surface platforms as directed, and as considered necessary. The role of the School has expanded considerably with PCTs of new platforms being added to the training curriculum of the school. The school also imparts training on new induction equipment to the Dockyard/Shipyards personnel on ‘as required’ basis. The emphasis is on defect identification and rectification based training to give hands-on training and ensure optimum employability of personnel in their future assignments at sea. Due emphasis is also given to equipment related Staff-Trainee projects to enhance the trainee and trainer skills. The Electrical Equipment School was established in the year 1974. It conducts equipment oriented training on all the equipment fitted on board ship naval of different class. The school is equipped with most modern Radar and Sonar Systems present in the Indian Navy.
