Visit of Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command

Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command accompanied by President NWWA (Southern Region) visited INS Valsura, from 12 to 14 April 2019. The C-in-C reviewed the passing out parade of the Electrical Specialisation Officer’s Course (O-170) on 13 April 2019. The POP marked the culmination of 95 weeks of professional training, wherein 16 officers of the Indian Navy, five from Indian Coast Guard and four from the navies of Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania and Nigeria graduated. A 50 men Guard of Honour was presented to the Chief Guest at the ceremonial parade which was also witnessed by parents of the passing out course. During his visit, the C-in-C reviewed the progress of various infrastructure projects and training facilities at the establishment. He also inaugurated accommodation blocks for junior sailors and personnel of the Defence Security Corps, an e-Bay for Massive Open Online Courses and 20 Node Indian Navy Online Examination System. Chief Staff Officer (Training), Southern Naval Command inaugurated the indigenous Inertial Navigation System for Ship Application designed by Research Centre Imarat, DRDO, Hyderabad and the Battery Training Facility. President NWWA (SR) laid the foundation stone for a new shopping complex at the unit. She also felicitated 16 ladies who have contributed immensely towards projects for women empowerment, social causes and community living.
