Passing out of DEEM (P/R) Course

Trainees of the Direct Entry Electrical Mechanic (Power and Radio) course passed out from the portals of INS Valsura on 16 Mar 19 on successful completion of their 26 weeks specialisation in Electrical Engineering. The course comprising of 330 sailors from Indian Navy and 27 Naviks from the Indian Coast Guard, had two inspectors from the Mauritius Police Force and two sailors from Myanmar Navy. The course was trained extensively on subjects related to basic Electrical and Electronics, with impetus being given to hands-on training. The training curriculum included regular physical and outdoor activities, aimed at ensuring an all-round development. Many activities were organised to groom the sailors into dedicated Sea Warriors so that they live the values of Duty, Honour and Courage. Rear Admiral Antony George, NM, VSM, Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Staff Requirements) at Naval Headquarters, New Delhi reviewed the impressive Passing Out Parade as the Chief Guest. The Admiral complimented the trainees for having successfully completed the course and advised them to keep abreast with the latest technological developments in the fields of Electrical, Electronics and Information Technology. The Admiral Ramnath Trophy for ‘Best All Round Sailor’ was awarded to Suraj Singh Bhadoriya, DEEM(R), the Commanding Officer INS Valsura Trophy for ‘Best Sportsmen’ to Mahaveer Prasad Sharma, DEEM(P) , the Book Prize for ‘Best Coast Guard trainee (Power)’ to Vikas, NVK(P), the Book Prize for ‘Best Coast Guard trainee (Radio)’ to Niraj Nilkantharao Patil, NVK(R) and the Book Prize for ‘Best International trainee’ to Hla Win, PO.
