Offshore Security Exercise, 'Prasthan' conducted

Slithering Operations from the Seaking 42C Helicopter, of Indian Navy, during the Exercise Prasthan

A bi-annual offshore security exercise, called 'Exercise Prasthan' was conducted on 22 Apr 16 by Western Naval Command on an oil platform in the Panna Offshore Oilfield, approximately 100 Kilometers South West of Mumbai. Mock drills to address various contingencies such as asymmetric threat (terrorist action), oil spill, casualty evacuation and fire would be conducted on this oil platform. Besides the Indian Navy, the other major stakeholders that participated in this exercise are Indian Air Force and Indian Coast Guard.
