Rear Admiral MD Suresh, NM, Deputy Commandant, INA flagging off Inter Squadron Cross Country Championship for Autumn Term 2016

The Inter Squadron Cross Country Championship for Autumn Term 2016  was conducted at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala on 31 Jul 2016. This prestigious event, which tests the limits of physical endurance, determination and will power in cadets, was flagged off by Rear Admiral MD Suresh, NM, Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor of the Indian Naval Academy at 0615 A.M. A total of 790 cadets from the six squadrons of the Academy participated in the event, in which the cadets ran a course of 12 km across varying terrains of Ezhimala.

Cadets participating in Inter Squadron Cross Country Championship for Autumn Term 2016 with zest, energy and vigour

Eagle Squadron emerged victors in the Cross Country Championship, while Cadet Ankit Gaur of Braveheart Squadron secured first position, clocking 44 minutes and 08 seconds.

Rear Admiral MD Suresh, NM presented the trophies and individual prizes to the proud winners. He congratulated the winning Squadron and praised the resolve, fighting spirit and never quit attitude displayed by all participating cadets. He highlighted the importance of systematic and scientific practice while preparing for cross country to successfully push human physical and mental envelope.
